3-Week Puppy Board & Train Program
Thank you for choosing Dog Academy for your puppy’s early training journey! Our 3-week Board & Train program for puppies up to 4 months of age, builds a strong foundation for life-long learning by focusing on essential skills, early socialization, and structure.
Program Overview
This program includes:
• Learning Day (required) – Held on select Sundays at 10 AM at Robert’s Hall in Lynn Haven. Learn about training methodology, nutrition, grooming, breed characteristics, and more. No dogs attend this session.
• 3-Private, In-Home Lessons to prepare you and your puppy
• 3 Weeks of Immersive Board & Train Schooling
• “Come” (recall)
• Leash walking skills
• “Kennel” command
• Potty training
• House manners (no jumping, quiet barking)
• Weekly Video Tutorials to help you reinforce skills at home
• Unlimited Group Classes after graduation to continue your dog’s development
5 Week Program Highlights:
Available for any puppy or adult dog, foundational training includes:
• Basic obedience commands
• House manners, including:
• No jumping
• No nipping
• No chewing on inappropriate items or people
• Quiet barking
• No digging
• Potty training
• Socialization skills
• Boundary training
• Recall and reliable leash walking (heel position)
• “Place/Bed/Kennel” command with Distance, Duration, and Distraction (DDD)
• Vehicle loading and travel etiquette
• Sit, Sit/Wait at doors, Sit at stop, and Sit/Stay with DDD
• Down/Stay with DDD
• Introduction to public behavior with our “Out and About” foundation
• Three private in-home lessons
• Unlimited group classes
• Lifetime support from Dog Academy
• AKC Canine Good Citizen testing
• Customized training based on your goals—including vet visits, grooming sessions, or behavioral concerns

Ready for the Next Step? Explore Our Advanced “Out and About” Program
After completing Basic Training, many clients choose to elevate their dog’s skills with our Advanced “Out and About” adventure. This program takes training into real-world environments and builds on the obedience foundation to improve confidence, reliability, and focus.
Dogs in this program learn advanced behaviors like:
• Responding to silent cues (e.g., going to their place when the doorbell rings)
• Polite behavior in restaurants, parks, sporting events, and more
• Calm and appropriate conduct during travel
• Preparation for Therapy Dog certification and public access work
Advanced Training includes:
• AKC Community Canine and/or Urban Public Access testing
• Unlimited Advanced Group Classes in public settings
• Three private “Out and About” lessons
• Individualized training based on your lifestyle and goals
Note: Due to travel and environmental exposure, we accept only a few Advanced clients at a time. No sessions are scheduled from July to September due to heat concerns.
Health Requirements:
To ensure a safe training environment, all dogs must be up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines, have two negative fecal exams per year, receive two annual Bordetella vaccines, and be on current flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.
