Start your puppy off on the right paw! We are proud to be the first in our area to offer DAY SCHOOL. Using Positive Behavior Shaping, your puppy will have a blast learning how to learn! One of the biggest reasons our owners love the Day School option is having your pup home with you in the evening after an engaging, fun-filled learning experience during the day and you being able to train your puppy with video guided tutorials of YOUR pup, sent each day, with new training examples! Enjoy a pup or dog who has had plenty of mental, and physical stimulation during the day to ensure a better evening, each evening.

Potty Training
At Dog Academy potty training is included, built around routine, supervision, consistency, and rewarding success. Puppies are taken outside on a structured schedule: after waking, eating, drinking, playing, training, and throughout the day to give them frequent opportunities to succeed. We closely supervise indoors, limit unnecessary freedom, and use appropriate crate or kennel time when direct supervision isn’t possible. Our goal is to teach puppies where and when to potty while helping owners establish a routine they can consistently continue at home.
Day School Information
We do our best to keep prices fair and competitive so that more families have the opportunity to enjoy a beautifully trained puppy, regardless of income. In return, we ask owners to show a willingness to participate and follow through. To support that success, full payment for the initial training period is due at the beginning of training. Attendance at all required Continuing Education Classes and private lessons, is an essential part of the program. These continuing education opportunities provide owners with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to maintain and build upon their puppy’s training. Day school is geared for puppies, five months old and under (though each case is reviewed before a firm decision is made).
Continuing Education Classes are held on Wednesday evenings 6:30-7:30PM or Sundays 1PM or 3PM
If you are unable to attend a scheduled lesson or class, please let us know as soon as possible so we can discuss potential alternatives. Trainer-approved absences may be accommodated on a case-by-case basis whenever feasible.
Because consistency and owner participation play a critical role in achieving long-term results, Dog Academy expects owners to actively engage in all required training components. If required classes,essons, or follow-through expectations are repeatedly missed or not completed without prior trainer approval, Dog Academy reserves the right to discontinue a puppy’s participation in the training program, without refund.
Our goal is always to help every puppy and owner team succeed. We are committed to providing guidance, support, and flexibility whenever possible, and we encourage open communication about scheduling challenges so we can work together toward the best outcome for the good of the pup, the owner, and our team so that everyone is learning, applying the work at home, and helping the puppy succeed long-term, because true success comes when owners learn alongside their puppy, not just after training is complete.Sunday or Wednesday:
This phase is critical.
It bridges the gap between what your dog can do with us and what your dog can do with you.
We are proud to keep improving our programs in ways that better prepare both dogs and their owners for real life together.
To ensure a safe and healthy environment, all dogs must meet the following requirements:
• Be up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, including:
• Rabies (not required until 16 weeks of age)
• DHLPP
• Bordetella (administered within the last 6 months)
• Provide documentation of a negative fecal exam within the past 6 months.
• Be on a monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention regimen.
Schedule:
• Drop-Off Days: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday
• Drop-Off Time: Between 6:00 AM – 8:00 AM
• Pick-Up Time: Between 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM
• No Day School on Wednesdays or Weekends (we do offer daycare on Wednesdays, which is helpful when potty training your puppy).
Feeding Instructions:
• Do not feed your puppy breakfast on school days.
• Bring a gallon-sized bag of your pup’s food on day one. This food will be used as training rewards during breakfast and lunch sessions. The bag will be returned to you when a refill is needed.
The Day School program runs for five consecutive weeks with required Continuing Education Classes held on Wednesdays 6:30-7:30PM or on Sunday afternoons at 1PM or 3PM, and 3 private lessons (to be scheduled one on one with Andrea)
Payment:
• Cost: $75 per day
• You may pay daily, weekly, or in full ($1,500 for the five-week program).
• Payments made via credit/debit card or Venmo require an additional 2.5% processing fee ($1537.50)

Training Commands & Cues
Basic Commands & Hand Signals your pup will learn:
• Come – Verbal or use a flat palm sweeping toward your left side.
• Heel – Step off with your left foot to signal walking in heel position (dog on your left).
• Wait – Step off with your right foot. No verbal command needed.
• Stay – Use after giving a command like sit, down, place, kennel, or bed. The dog must remain in position until released or given another command.
• Break – To release from command
• Enough – Use to stop excessive barking or play
Behavior-Specific Commands
• Off – Use to get off furniture.
• Sit – Say “Sit” or use a closed fist/stop walking to cue.
• Down – Verbal cue or point a finger toward the floor.
• Kennel – To direct the dog into a crate, kennel, or car.
• The dog should remain there until released.
